Yang Ge is a Chi­nese act­ress, di­rec­tor, sin­ger, and film­ma­ker. She gra­du­ated from the di­rec­ting de­part­ment of VGIK (Ge­rasi­mov Ins­ti­tute of Ci­nema­tog­raphy) in Mos­cow, whe­re she stu­di­ed un­der acc­la­imed film­ma­ker Ser­gei So­lovy­ov.

For over twel­ve years, Yang Ge has be­en a clo­se ar­tistic col­la­bora­tor of di­rec­tor Ki­rill Se­reb­renni­kov. She first per­formed at Go­gol Cen­ter and has sin­ce ap­pe­ared in pro­duc­ti­ons pre­sen­ted by ma­jor Euro­pe­an the­at­res and fes­ti­vals, inc­lu­ding De­uts­ches The­ater Ber­lin, Tha­lia The­ater Ham­burg,  Düssel­dorfer Scha­us­pi­el­ha­us, Salz­bur­ger Fest­spi­ele, Wi­ener Fest­wo­chen and Fes­ti­val d'Avig­non.

Along­si­de her the­at­re work, Yang Ge has bu­ilt an in­terna­ti­onal ca­re­er in film as both an act­ress and di­rec­tor. Her de­but fe­atu­re, NU re­ce­ived the Ju­ry Pri­ze at the Mos­cow In­terna­ti­onal Film Fes­ti­val. Her ar­tistic work exp­lo­res qu­es­ti­ons of iden­ti­ty, mig­ra­ti­on, cul­tu­ral be­lon­ging, and the re­lati­ons­hip bet­we­en per­so­nal and col­lecti­ve me­mory.

Wor­king ac­ross the­at­re, ci­nema, mu­sic, and per­forman­ce, Yang Ge de­velops mul­ti­dis­cipli­nary pro­jects that mo­ve bet­we­en dif­fe­rent lan­gu­ages, cul­tu­res, and ar­tistic tra­diti­ons.

Thro­ugh her ar­tistic work and di­gital sto­rytel­ling, Yang Ge has bu­ilt an in­terna­ti­onal audi­en­ce of mo­re than fi­ve mil­li­on pe­op­le ac­ross so­ci­al me­dia plat­forms.
