Anna Shalashova is a dramaturg, theatre critic and scholar, casting director. In 2004, she graduated from the Russian Institute of Theatre Arts (GITIS). In 2009, she defended her dissertation on the theatrical art of the 1960s and holds a PhD in Art History (officially recognized in Germany as an academic degree of Dr. phil).
Since 2004, she has been collaborating with Kirill Serebrennikov. From 2011 to 2014, she worked as Artistic Director's Assistant for the project PLATFORM, and from 2012 to 2022, as Artistic Director's Assistant at the Gogol Center theatre.
She has also collaborated with a number of leading theatres including Moscow Sovremennik Theatre, the Moscow Art Theatre named after A.P. Chekhov, Deutsches Theater Berlin and Thalia Theater in Hamburg.
Anna was the casting director for the films Tchaikovsky’s Wife, Limonov: the Ballad, The Disappearance of Josef Mengele and Après.
