Ant­ho­ny Ro­uc­hi­er, aka A.P.P.A.R.T, is a French com­po­ser and mu­sici­an who blends tan­go, elect­ro­nic mu­sic, rock, and clas­si­cal mu­sic. He dis­co­vered mu­sic thro­ugh the gu­itar and pur­su­ed stu­di­es in elect­ro­acous­tic com­po­siti­on at the Na­ti­onal Con­serva­tory of Ni­ce and at the C.I.R.M (In­terna­ti­onal Cen­ter for Mu­sical Re­se­arch), be­fore stu­dy­ing Mu­sico­logy at the Uni­ver­si­ty of Ni­ce Sop­hia An­ti­polis. 

His first al­bum Nu Tan­go, re­le­ased in 2003, ori­gina­ted from a com­missi­on for a gro­up of eight dan­cers from the Pa­ris Na­ti­onal Ope­ra. From that mo­ment on, he de­velo­ped a pas­si­on for it and em­barked on the elect­ro­nic mu­sic ad­ventu­re, with mu­sic for dan­ce be­coming a sig­ni­ficant part of his work.

A.P.P.A.R.T has per­formed his mu­sic in Fran­ce, ac­ross Euro­pe, and as far as Ja­pan. Be­ing a mu­sici­an, the sta­ge na­tural­ly be­came as im­portant to him as com­po­siti­on. Ant­ho­ny Ro­uc­hi­er has re­le­ased 12 al­bums and cre­ated mo­re than 60 works for dan­ce, whet­her con­tempo­rary, clas­si­cal, or neo-clas­si­cal. He al­so com­po­ses for the­at­re and has cre­ated se­veral ori­ginal so­und­tracks for vi­su­al me­dia, inc­lu­ding do­cumen­ta­ri­es and vi­deo clips, as well as nu­mero­us ar­tistic col­la­bora­ti­ons with both in­de­pen­dent and ma­jor la­bels. 

To­day, Ant­ho­ny Ro­uc­hi­er’s mu­sic aims to find its pla­ce in film sco­ring and li­ve per­forman­ce, dra­wing on the rhyth­mic and per­cussi­ve work of com­po­sers such as Jer­ry Gold­smith or Stra­vins­ky, as well as the am­bi­ent and elect­ro­acous­tic worlds of Ap­hex Twin or Cliff Mar­ti­nez. The­se ar­tists are im­portant re­feren­ces in his work, whe­re emo­ti­on and dra­matic nar­ra­tive form the fo­un­da­ti­on of his cre­ations.
