Based in Berlin, Svetlana Mamresheva is a soprano, actress, and acting & vocal coach.
Svetlana was born in Nartkala, Kabardino-Balkaria, in the North Caucasus, and has Circassian roots. She graduated from the Moscow Art Theatre School, where she studied in Kirill Serebrennikov’s acting class. After graduation, she became a member of the Seventh Studio and later joined Moscow’s renowned Gogol Center Theatre.
As an actress, she performed in dramatic, musical, and interdisciplinary productions, collaborating with leading theatres including the Moscow Art Theatre, the Gogol Center, and the Stanislavsky Electrotheatre.
After moving to Germany, Svetlana continued her artistic career as an opera singer. She completed a Master’s degree in Opera (Lied, Oratorio and Concert) at the Berlin University of the Arts (UdK Berlin), where she studied with Professor Deborah York.
Her repertoire ranges from Baroque music to contemporary opera and experimental music theatre. Recent engagements include collaborations with the Hamburg State Opera, Düsseldorfer Schauspielhaus, Thalia Theatre (Hamburg), Rundfunk-Sinfonieorchester Berlin, Ruhrtriennale, Tanzfabrik Berlin, and the Circassian Baroque ensemble Jrpjej.
Throughout her career, she has collaborated with internationally acclaimed directors, conductors, composers, pianists, choreographers, and vocal coaches, including Kirill Serebrennikov, Deborah York, Vladimir Jurowski, Philipp Chizhevsky, Ivan Velikanov, Maxim Didenko, Evgeny Kulagin, Ivan Estegneev, Sergej Newski, Alexander Manotskov, Leon Gurvitch, Erik Schneider, Sarah Tysman, Axel Bauni, Maria Motolygina and Nadine Koutcher.
In addition to her stage career, Svetlana has appeared in film and television and has received awards and recognition for her work in theatre and on screen.
