Malika Maminova (b. 1986 in Saint Petersburg, Russia) is a percussionist and performer, based in Cologne. Her work moves across orchestral and chamber music, contemporary repertoire and music theatre, shaped by an openness to different performance situations and formats. Alongside her work in established concert settings, she is interested in expanding concert formats and in contemporary music theatre, particularly in projects that bring together different musical and performative approaches within a single performance context.
She performs internationally as a soloist, orchestral and chamber musician, appearing in both traditional concert programmes and staged, interdisciplinary contexts. Her artistic path includes collaborations with leading musicians such as Mariss Jansons, Peter Eötvös, Heinz Holliger, Steve Reich, Teodor Currentzis, Carola Bauckholt and Manos Tsangaris.
Malika studied at the Rimsky-Korsakov Conservatory in Saint Petersburg, at the Hochschule für Musik Detmold, and at the Orchesterzentrum NRW, and gained further orchestral experience with ensembles including the ORF Academy, the Mahler Chamber Orchestra, the Zurich Chamber Orchestra, Bielefeld Philharmonic Orchestra and MusicAeterna Orchestra.
Malika is a member of the Nederlands Blazers Ensemble, known for its genre-crossing concert programmes and strong presence on international stages.
