Efi­mov

Ni­kita Efi­mov is an in­de­pen­dent film­ma­ker. Born in Pskov, Rus­sia, he stu­di­ed phi­lolo­gy be­fore mo­ving to Mos­cow, whe­re he gra­du­ated from the Ma­rina Raz­bezh­ki­na and Mik­ha­il Uga­rov Scho­ol of Do­cumen­ta­ry Film. His gra­du­ation film, Strict Re­gime, won the Grand Pri­ze in the Mid-Length Com­pe­titi­on at Vi­si­ons du Réel, one of Euro­pe’s le­ading do­cumen­ta­ry film fes­ti­vals, in 2021. His fol­low-up  do­cumen­ta­ry, Ap­po­int­ment, was na­med Best Film at the Mes­sa­ge to Man fes­ti­val in 2023 and re­ce­ived the Whi­te Elep­hant Award for Best Do­cumen­ta­ry from the Rus­si­an Gu­ild of Film Cri­tics. Efi­mov la­ter con­ti­nu­ed his tra­ining in fic­ti­on film­ma­king and comp­le­ted his first nar­ra­tive short film in 2026.
