Demon’s Sorrow

Everything is transient — performance, body, life, even the idea of home.
Looking back on himself from his current exile in Germany — as a dancer, a son, and as a human being — choreographer Ivan Estegneev searches within the moment of performance for ways to hold on and to let go. 

How do you say farewell to a father from afar?
How do you come to terms with an aging body?
And what remains of an art that disappears as it is created?

This solo performance, Demon’s Sorrow, is a deeply personal reflection on the fragility of the moment — one that, with every breath, dissolves and is born again.
